How the Process Works:
During your first visit a physical therapist will assess your walking gait and the structure of your foot. You will have a chance to discuss your needs and goals and your diagnosis from the doctor if you have one. Then the physical therapist will make a custom plaster cast of your foot, and send if off to the lab with special instructions for the way your orthotics should be formed. When the orthotics are complete (usually in one to two weeks), you return for a follow up visit with the physical therapist to try on your new orthotics and receive personalized instructions.
