What is SCAR Pilates?
Taught by Elizabeth Bailey, MPT, ATC, CSCS, Certified Pilates Instructor, SCAR Pilates applies current research and practice in medicine and movement science to the principles originated by Joseph Pilates. Elizabeth's extensive background in rehabilitation and sports performance expands on Pilates' principles by adding manual skills, advanced body awareness and motor control principles.
Pilates is a proven exercise system that gets you "in tune" with your body by concentrating on proper alignment and smooth movement. Pilates trains the whole body - coordinating the upper and lower musculature with the body's center or core. Most exercises work a number of muscle groups at once in smooth, continuous movement, elongating at the same time as they strengthen and stretch. The result: long and strong muscles. The program dramatically improves strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and posture. It's gentle enough for mothers-to-be, yet challenging enough for the super-fit athlete. It's a program that works for everyone, regardless of age or condition.
Pilates Options at SCAR
We have a variety of Pilates session options - private, semi-private equipment sessions as well as free mat classes for members. We can customize your Pilates program or membership to meet all your fitness needs.
- Private Sessions: $75/hour or 5 sessions/$350
- Semi-Private Sessions: $50pp or 5 sessions/$225 or 10 sessions/$400pp
