Physical Therapy StaffJim Herkimer, MS, MPT, ATCJim is a native Californian and has lived in Orange his whole life. He spent his youth in the local sports programs both as a player and as a coach. He graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and received both his Advanced Master of Science degrees in Exercise Physiology and Sports Medicine and his Master's in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. Jim is a certified USAT track and field coach. He has served as an advisor to the Governors Council on Physical Fitness and Sport and is currently a member of the State CIF Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. He has an extensive background in exercise prescription, sports conditioning and functional rehabilitation. Along with his current physical therapy practice, Jim is also a clinical instructor for the Physical Therapy Department and Athletic Training Department at Chapman University. Scott Holman, MPTScott has been with SCAR since 1998. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach with a minor in Gerontology, and a Master's in Physical Therapy from Chapman University. He has specialized in Orthopedic Rehabilitation since graduating in 1990. Scott enjoys all aspects of outpatient physical therapy ranging from geriatric balance and deconditioning to athletic injuries. He is certified by the National WorkSteps™ program to perform functional capacity and return to work evaluations in compliance with the ADA. Scott is also a certified Med-X Spinal Strength Examiner. Scott, a native Californian, lives in Orange with his two sons. Michael Adams, MS, PTA, ATC, JSCCMike is a native Californian and has lived in Orange since 1974. He is a graduate of Chapman University with a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and Sports Medicine and is a Certified Athletic Trainer. Mike has an extensive background in physical therapy with a speciality in manual therapy. He is certified by the Jones Institute in the Osteopathic technique of Strain-Counterstrain, which is a technique used to decrease pain and dysfunction within the body. He is also an advanced myofascial release practitioner with over 10 years experience. Mike teaches Strain-Counterstrain in many of the local universities including Chapman University, La Verne University and Azuza Pacific University. Caroline Wilson, DPTCaroline has lived in Southern California since 1971. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from California State University, Long Beach and attended the University of Southern California earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Caroline has specialized in orthopedic rehabilitation since graduating in 2002. She is a Certified Clinical Instructor working with physical therapy students from numerous local universities. Caroline is an avid softball player and runner. Elizabeth Bailey, MPT, ATC, CSCS, Certified Pilates InstructorElizabeth, originally from Washington State, moved to Orange County to attend Chapman University, where she completed a B.A. in Movement/Exercise Science. She graduated from Western University of Health Sciences with a Master of Physical Therapy Degree and recently returned to Western University to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree. While at Western University, she also completed a comprehensive Pilates teacher training program at Body Arts and Science International. Pilates is an integral part of her physical therapy treatments and is a perfect way to blend her love of movement with rehabilitation.
Elizabeth enjoys working with patients of all ages and physical abilities. She collaborates with her patients to create individualized treatment plans that will meet their unique, personal goals. She utilizes orthopedic manual therapy techniques in conjunction with functional movement and training methods to help her patients return to their daily tasks and favorite activities.
Elizabeth’s favorite activities are running, Pilates and yoga. Michele Herkimer, MPTMichele has lived in the Tustin/Orange area most of her life and is very active in local sports programs as well as local charities. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from UCLA and a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from USC. She has spent most of her career working with children. Michele has experience working with all aspects of pediatric rehabilitation. Over the last 15 years, she has worked extensively with children who have movement/muscle coordination issues, decreased muscle tone/strength and diminished endurance. |
